At the MHM Foundation, we believe camp is more than just a place. It’s a turning point in a young person’s life. It’s where leadership takes root, faith deepens, and community grows. That’s why we were glad to support Buckhorn Camp’s latest project with a grant that covered half the cost: the installation of a full 18-hole disc golf course.

This wasn’t a flashy proposal. It started as a simple idea shared between two staff members—Rob, the camp cook, and Dan, a longtime disc golf enthusiast. Over shared meals and quiet conversations, they dreamed up a way to bring more people into the often-unseen edges of Buckhorn’s beautiful mountain property. Then, they and other volunteers got to work clearing paths, setting pads, and mounting baskets. It took time, sweat, and vision. Now, it’s done.

But this course is more than a new amenity. It’s ministry. It’s connection. It’s one more way people can get outside, catch their breath, and encounter something bigger than themselves.

Already, it’s being used for team building and counselor training. It’s giving campers a sense of adventure and space to reflect. It’s helping people laugh, support one another, and create new memories in a natural setting. And it’s just getting started.

We’re proud to play a part in projects that combine practicality, passion, and purpose. At the end of the day, it’s not really about disc golf. It’s about helping people of all ages grow in spirit, community, and courage.
